Yes, strobe lighting is used in parts of each haunt.
We have PayPass and EFTPOS facilities at the Ticket Box that can be used to purchase tickets and games at Luna Park. In addition, we also have PayPass and EFTPOS facilities at most cashiers throughout the Park, as well as an ATM onsite for cash withdrawals. Most credit and EFTPOS cards are accepted (except DINERS).
Each haunted houses is a fully immersive Halloween experience. Once inside the hallowed walls of each haunt you will be absorbed into the creepy and sinister worlds within. Our state of the art room sets have a host of scares, props, animatronics, audio/visual effects and live actors! There will be low visibility, strobe lighting, fog and other tricks that we can’t give away. Flash photography, video, drinking, eating or touching props or actors is not permitted inside either attraction.
No, both of our haunted houses are a self- guided walk through tour but the haunted house residents will help guide (scare) you through.
Each walk- through tour takes approximately 10 - 15 minutes, but this can vary depending on the pace of each individual/group.

Luna Dark is home to 2 Haunted House experiences. Haunted Fairytales will be open for day and night sessions and is a family-friendly Halloween themed visual experience. The residents will be welcoming but be warned, some props may frighten young children who scare easily and anyone afraid of the dark.
As night falls, brace yourself as the doors of Extreme Phobia open. The only thing to fear is fear itself in this extreme Haunted House encounter. At night the residents show no mercy to the frightened or the brave! Warning, the scare level is extreme and only recommended for mature audiences 12+ years.
Yes, guidelines have been put in place to maximise your enjoyment and keep you and other guests safe. Please read the signs beside every ride, attraction and haunt carefully before you go for it!
In general we recommend you do not ride or enter a haunt if you have any of the following conditions: heart problems, high blood pressure, pregnancy, back or neck injuries, recent surgery, casts, moon boots or injured bones.
There is wheelchair access to the grounds of Luna Park. We also have wheelchair access toilets available. Guests in wheelchairs are permitted to ride on all attractions at Luna Park except the Scenic Railway. However, various health and safety requirements do apply to wheelchair guests so it’s always best to check with staff before your visit. The Haunted Fairytales haunt experience is wheelchair accessible.
However, due to its location and a number of special effects within, sadly, Extreme Phobia is not wheelchair friendly.
Luna Park is very easily accessible by train and tram. The closest train station to Luna Park is Balaclava station. Luna Park is a short walk from this station.
Two main trams travel to Luna Park, the number 16 and 96 St Kilda. These can be boarded from major city train stations Flinders Street and Southern Cross.

There is ample paid parking surrounding Luna Park in car parks and on street at Council rates. The Palais Theatre on Jacka Boulevard also has parking at Council rates. The St Kilda Sea Baths on Jacka Boulevard has undercover parking available.
Council Parking Rates are $13.20 daily rate until midnight (or $5.50 per hour) (July 2018) Please note that parking is run by the Port Phillip City Council and the price is subject to change without notice.
Patrons are responsible for checking ticket machines at time of the parking ticket purchase. Please ensure you have sufficient change or a credit card to pay for parking. (Prices may change at the Council’s discretion)

There are a limited number of accessible parking places to the side of Luna Park in Cavell Street, and at both ends of the Luna Park car park in Shakespeare Grove.
Cars displaying a Category 1 disabled parking permit (blue permit) are exempt from paying parking fees in any of the Council parking areas around Luna Park.

Spooktober@Luna Dark’s show will go on! It is an outdoor/indoor all weather event. It’s Melbourne in Spring so be prepared for all sorts of weather! The haunted houses are indoor attractions and many activities in the Park will be partly covered.

Our free Trick or Treat Trail presented by WIZZ FIZZ is the safest way to Trick or Treat in Melbourne!
We recommend you don’t bring valuables to the Park as you cannot take loose items, use cameras or mobile phones on rides. However, we have security lockers available for hire by the hour or for a full day. Lockers are $6 or $8 for the day and take cash (coin only). They are located near the Twin Dragon ride and next to the Scenic Railway.
Yes, there are Family Passes available for 2 adults (13+) and 2 children (4-12yrs) OR 1 Adult (13+) and 3 children (4-12yrs) for day sessions on Saturdays and Sundays. A discounted combo including the Haunted Fairytales Haunt is also available.
You bet! We want everyone to feel safe, even as we’re scaring the pants off you! Spooktober@Luna Dark is a family friendly festival so any obscene language, pushing, violence,drunk or poor behaviour may result in your removal from the event. The Organisers reserve the right to refuse entry to the Park or its Haunts, or remove from the Event, any person smoking indoors or behaving in an intoxicated, disorderly, aggressive, offensive or dangerous manner or in any manner which would be a potential threat to security or the smooth operation of the Event.
No thanksand here’s why … it will be dark. This means your eyes [and other guests’ eyes]quickly adjust to the low light. Your camera’s flash may hurt others’ eyes andannoy them – detracting from their tour experiences. Fog used inside theattraction also ruins flash photography. There will be plenty of photoopportunities outside the haunted houses.
This is dependent upon demand. During peak times you can expect to wait approximately 30 minutes, but wait times will vary sometimes due to circumstances beyond our control. You are not permitted to enter the tour queue lines until the TIME stated on your ticket.
Ride wait times will vary according to popularity of the individual rides. There are signs in some queue lines advising expected wait times at different queue points.
No, this is the time you are able to enter the tour queue line. During non-peak times,there may not be a queue at all, but generally expect a wait of approx. 30 minutes once entering the queues. Wait times may vary.
There are emergency exits located throughout each attraction. If you become too frightened to complete your tour please alert an actor and they will assist you in finding the nearest exit. Please note there are no refunds given for our tours.
Haunted Fairytalesis a walk-through family-friendly Halloween experience. The friendly characters are there to fright and delight but there will not be any intentional scares.For 5+years, it is not recommended for those that scare easily or are afraid of the dark. Parents/Guardians should use their discretion as to whether it will be suitable for their children who must be supervised at all times.
Extreme Phobia is not suitable for young children. It is recommended for mature audiences 12+ years. Scare level is extreme, includes graphic content, gore and themes of horror designed to frighten all who enter.

There will be between 6 – 8 people in each tour group so that you get the full experience of each haunt.
Yes,however we recommend purchasing tickets for the same date and time slot to make this possible. To ensure the best experience, groups should be no bigger than 6. However if you’re a larger group, your friends will be right behind you if you book the same tour block time – tours are approximately 1 minute apart.
We recommend arriving 15 – 30 minutes prior to your haunted house booking time to familiarise yourself with the Park and where the haunt entries are located. You will not be permitted to queue until the TIME on your ticket. Late comers will only be admitted at the next available time if capacity allows.
Attendees are not permitted to touch the actors and the actors are also instructed not to touch attendees, although they will get very close and some props may make contact.Incidental and unintentional contact may occur.

Fear is relative for each person and cannot be defined by age, sex, race, religion, etc. It is our aim to cater to a wide range of scare tolerances so that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the haunted season.
